Job Purpose: A member of the Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will play a critical role in shaping the future of the organisation by providing strategic direction for the financial, administrative, ICT and HR systems and controls. The post-holder will uphold the highest standards of financial management and corporate governance, and will drive continuous improvement and efficiency. Role Specific Main Duties and Responsibilities To provide leadership and strategic direction for the Centre's finance, HR, ICT, facilities, governance and administrative functions; To achieve and maintain the highest standards of financial management, developing effective financial control and operations systems in order to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and auditing requirements; To provide strategic financial advice to Board and Senior Leaders in relation to income generation, funding opportunities and business development; To advise on and monitor the financial growth and implications of commercial activity; To oversee preparation of the statutory accounts at year end and quarterly management accounts to the Board, funders and other interested external stakeholders; To produce high quality and accurate reports for internal and external audiences; To achieve and maintain the highest standards of corporate governance; To ensure that effective and efficient systems are in place within corporate services teams to support business needs across finance, HR, ICT, governance, facilities and administration; To drive a programme of continuous improvement and change within the area of responsibility and across the wider organisation; To engage with and influence senior stakeholders to further strengthen the position of the organisation and put in place strategic partnerships; To play a leadership role in the development and achievement of the organisation's corporate strategy, taking responsibility for designated priorities; To report to and support the Board ; To participate in strategic decision making as a member of the Senior Leadership Team; To line manage the functional managers, seeking to implement operational improvements and developments where possible; and To deputise for the Chief Executive as required.
