This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.The Role ResponsibilitiesStrategyThe Fintech Banking team is responsible for covering financial and strategic clients in the global fintech ecosystem. The group is a new segment in Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking and leverages our full product suite across Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and Transaction Banking to provide strategic investment banking and commercial banking services tailored to clients in the fintech sector.BusinessThe role will support the Global Head of Fintech Banking with: Fintech sector content and idea generation in relation to emerging innovation and investment trendsOrigination and execution of high-priority deals, with a focus on event-driven transactions Strategic projects, including partnership with SC Ventures, Group Strategy & Corporate DevelopmentIn relation to deal origination and execution, the candidate will:Systematically map the deal activity of leading financial & strategic investors against the growing portfolio of fintech clients in CCIB to originate proprietary M&A and capital raising opportunitiesBuild and supervise the building of detailed financial models to evaluate underlying fintech business performance under various operating scenarios, assess the impact of different capital structures and model strategic M&A, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital investment transactionsParticipate in all stages of transaction execution, from the pitch phase through to closingPrepare and supervise the preparation of thoughtful presentation materials for use in client meetingsParticipate in and take specific lead on cross-regional origination and pipeline coordination Participate in and lead the execution of transactions including due diligence and drafting of documentsResearch and supervise research and analysis of fintech, e-commerce and big-tech businesses Coordinate efforts with deal team members across the Bank and lead day-to-day project management ProcessesSupport the Global Head of Fintech Banking by coordinating work across the network of RMs, advisory teams and product partners who currently work as part of the fintech client segment in CCIB. Support strategic engagement with key clients and proactively manage projects across fintech coverage of to ensure close ties exist with key internal stakeholders, e.g., Relationship Managers, Corporate Finance, Financial Markets, Transaction Banking, GBMT, Country CEOs, Risk and the fintech advisory team. People and TalentMaintain market-leading, up-to-date knowledge of the fintech industry and the implications for effective client coverage, deal activity, governance and growth of the fintech segment in CCIB.Build and demonstrate the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations with colleagues and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.Take initiative around ongoing personal training and development in cooperation with line manager.Contribute to line manager review of team structure/capacity plans.Share knowledge and skills with colleagues across the global fintech segment.Contribute to peer review feedback for colleaguesRisk ManagementContribute to the establishment of tools and processes to understand the fintech market, regulation and risk environment for countries which the client segment operates. Take the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational and ethical matters in relation to proactive client engagement. Collaborate with colleagues in these matters to promote team awareness of relevant regulatory, reputational and ethical risks.Exemplify the Group's values and code of conduct and develop a robust culture to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among team members. GovernanceWork with the New Payment Method Oversight Committee and BBD governance team to ensure proactive good governance within the CCIB fintech client portfolio.Take responsibility for personal awareness and understanding of the fintech regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.Ensure that key fintech regulatory risks and concerns are raised into the established governance framework throughout the relevant business teams.Regulatory & Business ConductDisplay exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.Support the fintech client segment to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.Key StakeholdersSupport the Global Head of Fintech Banking on engagements with leading financial and strategic clients in the fintech sector.Develop content for senior executives to represent the Bank among peers and other external stakeholders in the fintech industry.Engage with product partners regionally and globally to ensure breadth and depth of client coverage.Coordinate across the network of Relationship Managers who work as part of the fintech client segment.Liaise with the fintech advisory team and consult with stakeholders in Risk, Legal & Compliance to ensure client coverage remains within the policies of the Bank.Other ResponsibilitiesEmbed "Here for good" and Group's brand and values.Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies.Our Ideal CandidateKeen knowledge of fintech, e-commerce and big-tech innovation and investments trends.Strong Corporate Finance transaction experience and knowledge of Financial Markets and Transaction Banking, including the digital innovations disrupting these products and services.Cross-border advisory experience, including in emerging markets.First Class or 2.1 bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a leading university.Proficient with MS Office Suite, Refinitiv, Capital IQ, Bloomberg and SNL.Strong financial modelling skills, experience in drafting board-level presentations, excellent valuation skills, experience in conducting due diligence exercises and strong aptitude for client engagement.Strong project management skills and attention to detail to drive efficient and error-free work output.Capable of multitasking and working under tight deadlines to produce timely and quality work.Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills across diverse cultures.Driven, motivated personality and strategic, innovative mindset.Risk and AML certified as stipulated by Bank policy.Apply now to join the Bank for those with big career ambitions.
