DS Business Services Limited, based in Caerphilly, is currently looking for a Finance Manager to join their Finance Team. Managing an experienced team of eight (three direct), you will be responsible for delivery of accounting and reporting services to a number of key businesses within the group. As a senior manager, you will manage relationships with key stakeholders and ensure that your team provides a high quality service, whilst at the same time achieving deadlines. You will be actively involved in driving continuous improvement both within your own team and the wider department in the pursuit of world class performance. A main component of this role will involve identifying and delivering improvements in the use of IT systems across the team. There may be some UK travel. Main Responsibilities
• Ensuring the Team deliver accurate and timely management accounts (P&L, B/S, KPI's) to site management teams in line with set deadlines
• Ensure that corporate governance standards are clear and maintained for each site through a process of ongoing balance sheet reviews and a strong control environment
• Responsible for ensuring that opportunities for improving the use of IT systems are identified and delivered where a business benefit exists.
• Deliver routine and ad-hoc analysis, as requested by site operations, Finance Business Partners, Division and Group
• Drive reporting quality through process improvement and culture of peer review
• Develop and mentor the team to achieve targets and simultaneously improve quality
• Help to clearly define career progression routes and satisfy succession planning requirements through development and training of staff
• Deliver team objectives through effective use of Performance Development Plans / Reviews Person Specification Essentials: Fully Qualified Accountant Bachelors degree or other certification in a related discipline Experience of managing a team and working with a large international organisation Up to date technical knowledge with experience of Divisional/Group reporting Experience of system implementation projects or delivering improvements through the use of IT applications Experience using ERP accounting systems, preferably SAP. Use of Hyperion would be an advantage Experience of Operational/Manufacturing environment and reporting requirements Track record of providing accounting/reporting services Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences Knowledge of accounting standards (UK GAAP and IFRS) and MS Office suite, in particular Excel About DS Smith: DS Smith is a leading supplier of recycled packaging, both within the UK market and throughout Europe.
