Overview The firm is looking to recruit a Tax Workflow Coordinator to join the Tax Hub based in central Liverpool. The Tax Hub is one of several teams within BDO's rapidly growing Shared Service Centre (SSC). SSC team members work internally within the business providing support to the client facing members of the firm. Responsibilities This will be a challenging and rewarding role where you will: Diagnosing requests:
• Reviewing each incoming case, checking against agreed indicators of the "too complex" categories and rejecting or accepting as appropriate.
• For accepted cases, checking the information received for missing items or certain prescribed complex issues to the client team. Responding to the client team within agreed SLA's.
• Assessing urgent cases requiring shorter than agreed under the SLAs turn-around time in consultation with the team and based on the capacity in the team. Allocating jobs:
• Allocating accepted new cases to preparers/reviewers within agreed parameters.
• Ensuring that cases are re-allocated in case of absences of preparers or reviewers. Tracking and reporting:
• Tracking new cases being sent to the SSC and updating relevant reports accordingly.
• Monitoring turn-around times, so that the SSC Tax Hub can share with the internal client current performance against the SLAs and promptly notify the client teams of any delays.
• Preparing various reports for the Tax Hub management and the internal client (Tax stream). Co-ordinating communication between the client teams and the SSC Tax Hub:
• Checking the SSC Tax Hub inbox throughout the day and ensuring all queries are allocated to the right people to respond.
• Proactively liaising with relevant requesters in the event of any changes to the turn-around times agreed under the SLAs. Requirements
• IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Excel, other MS products and similar desktop applications. Willingness to learn new systems is essential
• Well presented with a professional level of communication - both verbal and written
• Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to use own initiative and take a flexible approach.
• Experience in either accounting or tax is advantageous but not imperative.
