The Role Responsibilities Risk Management Implement the overall Risk Management Framework and adherence to Global Underwriting Guidelines for Funds (Real Money, Hedge Funds, and Private Equity) and oversee there effective application. Assist SCO Funds to contribute to the Risk Committee, Credit Issue Forum, and Underwriting Committee to provide input to the committees on arising risk issues and new policies and processes. Proactive identification and reporting of risks and concerns. Mitigation of risks and resolution of issues in a timely manner including developing suitable controls and measuring their effectiveness. Exercise personal delegated credit authority and to make recommendations to higher authorities if otherwise. To make credit decisions / recommendations based on risk / reward. Ensure that the Bank's policies on Appropriateness and Suitability are effectively managed. Risk Appetite Uphold the integrity of risk/return decisions in Funds by challenging business and control function heads to demonstrate that risk origination and control decisions are properly informed and consistent with strategy and risk appetite Maintain alignment of Funds with risk appetite by rebalancing of risks or controls that may be required in response to internal and external factors Initiate stress test for Funds exposures to commodity price, foreign exchange, interest rate, and scenario programme in Jump Risk. Review the results and assess their implications. Ensure that effective management response plans are in place to respond to extreme but plausible scenarios Direct appropriate response to material events or other risk issues in Funds Sector. Risk Control Ownership of Credit and Operational Risk Ensure risk identification, measurement, reporting, and modelling capabilities are objective, consistent, and compliant with applicable regulations Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible Financial Markets Product Governance Committees and to Group and Business-level committees as appropriate Engage all stakeholders (e.g. Business partners, Market Risk, Finance, Legal and Compliance) to raise their awareness of Financial Markets' Product Risks and how these are managed by Funds Risk Management. Regulatory & Business Conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the Groups and SCBs Values and Code of Conduct. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group and SCBs Code of Conduct. Comply with the Banks Conduct principles. Effectively and collaboratively identify escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Key Stakeholders Business Global Account Managers, Relationship Manager, Field Account Managers, Client Managers. CIB discuss information on counterparties and give indications to CIB as to acceptability of credit and the extent of credit appetite. Risk All staff in other Risk units London, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, India, Seoul, Traded Risk Management. Regional Credit Chief Officer and Chief Credit Officer, Financial Institutions. Trade Operations respond on a timely basis to trade applications received and clarify any issues prior to approval. Senior Management prepare information required on an ad-hoc basis. Internal Auditors information on portfolio, policy, process and decisions taken. Regional Chief Credit Officer Our Ideal Candidate Credit experience in Real Money and Hedge Funds sector including demonstrated success in a similar role. Professionally qualified. Ability to assess various layers of risk and appropriate levels of return, strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
