A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance professional to take the position of Finance Manager for a high-growth and progressive construction business based in central London. Based in the City, this role will see the successful Finance Manager take full ownership over the finance department of the business, reporting directly into the senior stakeholders. Based in their vibrant and dynamic office, you will work alongside a team of 35 who are all ambitious, friendly and very driven to help drive the continuous growth of the business. This varied position will typically compromise producing financial reports, developing strategies based on financial research and suggesting improvements for current processes. Maintaining the company's accounting records including purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank accounts including reconciliation, accruals and prepayments and taking the accounting records to trial balance Ensuring subcontractors/suppliers are paid on time and their accounts are reconciled Liaising with the Commercial team to manage cash flow and ensure timely payments to suppliers/sub-contractors Monitor positive cash position for each project Generate overhead cash flow and project cash flow Review spend and reduce number of accounts in order to maximise spending power Management and settlement of purchase ledger accounts Manage client-side retention and sub-contractor retention schedule Issue updated debtors list and weekly cost report. Provide Directors their team's debtors list and chase them late payments where necessary Produce monthly management accounts including overheads and turnover forecast Issue monthly cost reports to Surveyors & Directors Quarterly VAT Assist in the production of the Management accounts Budget reporting Produce year end accounts and be main point of contact for onsite audit The ideal candidate for this position will ideally be part ACCA or AAT qualified, with a view to complete this in the near future. You will have proven and extensive experience of managing a finance function within a construction business and will ideally have experience of using Sage. You will enjoy partnering with senior stakeholders, improving processes, planning ahead and will be able to demonstrate strong examples of how you have done this previously. You will be capable of working under pressure, will be highly organised, pro-active and an excellent communicator.
