The Role This is a great opportunity for an Asset Manager, supporting the Head of Asset Management function for the Asset Finance product line and reporting into the Head of Asset Management, to join the team based in Reading. You will create a more focused approach to the in-life but mainly end-of-term valuation and disposal of assets and all other end-of-term processes, and join existing Asset Managers whose role is more focused on valuation activities. You will be responsible for undertaking valuation and research work in addition to managing end of contract and disposals, complying with accompanying KPI's. There will also be the requirement to support the front end valuation processes where required. The other Asset Managers will also be required to support the disposal process as requested or required. You must have a strong background and understanding of asset finance and have specific experience in asset management and the valuation and disposal of financed assets. It is desirable that you have an understanding of process improvement, ideally with experience of shared service environments and project/process improvement methodologies. You must be able to work independently and with multiple stakeholders as, while this role sits in Risk, there will be considerable interaction with Credit, Collections, and Operations. Key Accountabilities include
• Ensure the cost effective and timely disposal of a broad range of assets, maximising sales proceeds across different remarketing options.
• Choose the most appropriate channel for the asset, considering cost and level of recovery.
• Provide timely valuation of assets managed by the Collections team to support the portfolio provisioning process.
• Improve and expand disposal outlets and routes to market within the key asset and sales verticals.
• Manage relationships with external valuation and asset disposal providers.
• Manage end of term system processes.
• Contribute to Risk policy reviews including for Asset Management, Credit, and Collections.
• Develop MI reporting and provide commentary for inclusion with AM reports.
• Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are adhered to. Experience required
• Significant Asset Finance experience with specific asset management experience across a broad range of asset categories including Commercial Vehicles, Construction, Plant and Machinery and others.
• Superior interpersonal skills including demonstrated skills to communicate effectively
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation, time management skills and multi-tasking ability
• Passion for understanding of assets and an ability to learn quickly and share information
• Experienced and skilled at effectively providing and receiving constructive feedback
• Demonstrated success in anticipating issues and initiating effective actions
• Team player, innovative, excellent communication and facilitation skills
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Understanding of key drivers of risks, losses and fraud in Asset Finance market
