'Dress for your Day' lets you choose what you feel is appropriate to wear for each working day.The OpportunityOur team, consisting of both actuarial and non-actuarial pensions specialists, works with clients to develop and implement solutions to today's pensions challenges which are aligned to their organisational strategy and objectives.We are looking for qualified actuaries to join our dynamic and growing team, with promotion potential, working across an exciting mix of clients.You will be part of a well-established team with office locations in Reading, Bristol, and London (Embankment Place), and will have flexibility as to which office you wish to work from (as well as the ability to work from home on occasion). As a Manager in this role, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients, establishing effective working relationships and offering proactive advice.The key responsibilities of the role is to work with Senior Managers, Directors and Partners in the team to lead the delivery of client projects. Your focus will be on the delivery of a range of technical actuarial services and advice to corporate sponsors of pension schemes, covering a number of areas including the following, depending on your previous experience:Pension scheme strategyScheme fundingFinancial reporting covering pensions (essential) and share based payments (non-essential but useful) - both preparation and auditingMember options and other liability management exercisesRisk transactions and other end game solutionsSpecific ResponsibilitiesAs a Manager a key part of the role will be to contribute to coaching and development of junior members of our team, with opportunities to be a people manager to junior staff.You will also be expected to develop a network of contacts to support the team's business development objectives in your specialist area(s). You will use your pensions knowledge within a wider commercial context, as part of a multi-disciplinary team including working alongside other professionals in our Covenant Advisory, Investment, Legal and Reward and Employment teams.The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Proactively managing a portfolio of clients and generally working to Senior Managers, Directors and Partners.Managing a team of junior staff on each client.Establishing effective working relationships with appropriate levels of client staff.Taking a proactive role in the financial management of the client.Contributing to the development of personal and team knowledge.Building your own network of contacts through regular attendance at internal and external meetings.Staying up-to-date with changes in law and in the firm's products and services.Staying up-to-date with local and national business and economic issues that might potentially impact on clients and /or their industry.Some travel and occasional overnight stays will be expected.We understand that applicants may not feel comfortable in applying for a role unless they fully meet the requirements as advertised.
