An SME, growing business in Harrow are looking for a Financial Controller to join their family-feel and growing team with a relaxed and cheerful culture. The business is the go-to company who offer outsourced end-to-end finance solutions for the professional services business. Reporting directly into the Managing Directors (who are both qualified accountants) you will initially lead a finance team of 4 with a view for you to take over management of the full team of 8, including 3 qualified accountants and 1 studier to produce accurate, timely and value-adding management information. This is a challenging 'hands-on' role within a friendly, highly professional and award-winning shared services finance team. Key interfaces within the business will be clients (principally director level) whose finances the company is responsible for, and other members of the finance team.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the oversight of end-to-end accounting for allocated companies. Oversight and assistance with preparation of our clients' statutory accounts, corporation tax computations, personal tax returns and board packs for clients. Confirmation statement filings. Reporting to, supporting, and working closely with the Directors in producing useful and accurate Management Information for clients. Production of monthly and annual accruals and prepayments, fixed asset register maintenance (where applicable), coding and posting of credit cards, director and staff expenses, and the maintenance of control accounts in the balance sheets. Preparation of client budgets and forecasts. Preparation of KPI's for client board meetings. Oversight of the preparation of VAT and other statutory returns. Assisting with commission calculations. Reviewing and management of your team's work. Dealing with ad hoc client queries on a timely basis. This is a client facing role with exposure to senior professionals within the industry including many non-executive directors. Onboarding of new clients to ensure the customer service we expect has been delivered. The role may occasionally involve client site visits. Key Experience: Experience in an SME professional services business or practice. Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Alternatively, a technically strong QBE accountant with extensive recruitment sector experience. Team management experience - at least a team of 1. With a nurturing, proactive and lead-from-the-front management style. Personable and vibrant personality, with the ability to business partner and nurture relationships internally and externally. Progression: There is a clear progression path for this person to step up into the consultant FD role. One of the Managing Directors currently provides FD consultancy services for their selected clients - including but not limited to, assisting and advising on transactions, international expansion, assistance with restructuring and other commercial projects. The person will be mentored by the Managing Director, a previous CFO of a large, international staffing business, to ultimately step up into the consultant FD role.
