River Cruise is a brand new product for our business and there will be a huge focus in this area for the coming years. The recent launch creates a new position for someone to come and join our superb finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on business partnering and being responsible for the technical accounting with a broad view of the end to end product. You will have complete ownership of the month-end process and the opportunity to make this role your own, as we require someone who can create new processes with the support of the manager and the wider business. As the River Cruise Accountant, you will act as a key interface between the commercial accounting team and its internal and external customers including Commercial Finance, Group Finance, Treasury, Internal & External Audit and the commercial cruise team to ensure all accounting, control and reporting requirements relating to River Cruise are met. This role will have key inputs into the setting up and establishing the accounting processes for this new exciting product at TUI. You will be part of the accounting team which delivers a first-class accounting service to the wider TUI UK & I tourism business. What you will be doing The River Cruise Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting and control of the River Cruise cost base and ancillary revenues. This includes maintaining the financial ledgers, ensuring all the key controls are in place and are maintained. Working with the commercial finance team to ensure the month-end is delivered on time, all costs and revenues are captured correctly and the P&L ledger comes back to what is expected. This role will business partner the commercial finance team in terms of balance sheet robustness, identifying any risks and opportunities and ensuring these are captured centrally on the risks and opportunities register. This role is specifically responsible for flying and transfer costs relating to River Cruise and will help develop the processes to allow efficient work practices. The operational lease accounting under IFRS 16 will form a part of the role. In this role, you will also be responsible for all audit deliverables for River Cruise. This role will also support the Ocean Cruise accounting team with tasks as required giving a broader knowledge base and opportunity to develop further.
