Our client is looking for a Hub Accountant to join them as soon as possible. This role forms part of the Global Accounting Operations team, based in their Witham office. You will work on a wide variety of projects and areas, assisting the Head of Accounting Operations with varied ad hoc requests as well as BAU, covering all regions and operating companies within the group. The role has arisen due to expansion in the team and company growth and will provide a large and varied amount of exposure to the accounting operations areas within the company. Your key responsibilities would include but are not limited to: Manages the relationship with our Offshore provider, including budgeting, billing and change requests. Change control across all locations globally. Accounting Operations Budgeting and Forecasting Accounting Hub governance Lease Accounting Enhancements Acquisitions Prepares reviews and approves the most complex journal entries, consolidated statements and client carrier reconciliations. Analyses, maintains and reconciles the general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and administrative systems. Researches accounting policy or reporting issues and prepares position paper/policy on the related subject. Prepares financial statements and disclosures and reconciles to appropriate support information. Prepares and analyses revenue and/or expense reports; coordinates revenue and expense accruals and ensures timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close. Performs variation and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts, carriers, clients, administrative systems, financial statement line items, and related disclosures, including Management's discussion and analysis. Findings may be presented to senior management. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, carrier agreements, SOX procedures, SSAE16 procedures, tax regulations, local GAAP and US GAAP and local statutory regulations (as applicable) regarding financial matters. Reviews internal processes and procedures and provides recommendations to management to improve these processes and procedures. Assists management in the development and implementation of internal accounting policies, procedures and processes; may assist in the transition to and from teams both onshore and offshore, as necessary. Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned. Essential requirements : Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Financial/Accounting environment Proficiency in Microsoft office advanced Excel Strong organisational skills Ability to work unsupervised, proactively utilising initiative Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels Advantageous : Previous experience of working in a Shared Service Centre environment Project experience/qualification If you are interested in applying for this role I would be keen to hear from you.
