Corporate Tax Associate We are searching for an experienced Corporate Tax Associate Due to an expanding client portfolio, we need an additional team member, within the rapidly growing corporate tax team of our Bury St Edmund's office, to manage a portfolio of owner-managed and large corporate clients with complex tax affairs, ensuring both excellent client service and identification of further work opportunities. The role will involve working on a variety of advisory projects and technical assignments. In addition, to take an active role in business development opportunities, proposals and networking events. About the job You will be responsible for looking after the corporation tax affairs for a portfolio of corporate clients. You will have day to day responsibility for a portfolio of tax compliance clients, preparing complex tax computations and reviewing tax computations prepared by junior members of the team, whilst liaising and building relationships with the client, practising the principles of excellent client service at all times. You will identify and advise on tax planning opportunities and assist senior team members with specialist technical assignments as required. You will manage the assignment in accordance with the firm's standard procedures and confirm arrangements with the client, including likely costs and billing arrangements. Ensuring the work meets targeted recovery, and to bill clients on a timely basis. You will ensure that appropriate liaison takes place with all other departments, and that all potential client needs are identified and serviced accordingly. You will brief junior staff on the client's business and the pre-assignment instructions, supervise and control the completion of work. You will attend staff meetings and training as required. You will ensure tax quality at all times by adhering to the Firm's quality standards. You will maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses and will fulfil professional bodies' CPD requirements. You will maintain an awareness and observation of Health and Safety issues within the Firm and report any concerns to the Health and Safety Representative. You will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by your line manager, Head of Department or any Partner. About the ideal candidate You'll be a self-starter who is keen to use their initiative, to learn and to support your colleagues and will have relevant experience of corporate tax compliance and advisory projects. Requirements Essential Previous practical experience of working within a Corporate Tax role Appropriate professional qualification CTA, ACA, or ACCA The candidate should be a confident, self-motivated, well-organised individual with excellent communication skills and have a strong desire to pursue a career in corporate tax. Desirable Experience within a top 10 accountancy practice. Experience with managing a portfolio of compliance clients. Experience of identifying and advising on tax advisory projects, for example capital allowances, R&D, restructuring and due diligence. Experience of using specialist tax software system.
