Financial Controller required Outskirts of Cardiff Salary of circa £45,000 - £53,000 per annum plus benefits My client, a newly established start up is seeking to recruit a hands on Financial Controller to join its fast paced business. The company is in the early stages of its existence and therefore requires a flexible individual who is able to adapt to the growth of the organisation and who is a self-starter who is able to get stuck into all elements of the company's financial position. Reporting directly into the Managing Director, the main duties of the role will include - Responsible for producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts Oversee the purchase and sales ledgers Deal with budgets and forecasting and variance analysis Prepare and provide commentary on cashflow and bad debts Timely and accurate completion of VAT returns and statutory financial statements Responsible for financial analysis and reporting Implementation of new procedures and processes Oversee a small transactional team Support the management team in driving the business performance Ensure effective and efficient financial controls are in place Work closely with investors and stakeholders both internally and externally Liaise with external auditors Oversee the Admin & HR functions The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant who has a proven track record of working within a fast paced challenging environment. My client will also consider exceptional QBEs. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong academic background and experience of working in a start-up or SME business, ideally in a PE backed environment. You will be highly proficient in Excel and have a keen eye for detail, continually seeking ways to improve processes and controls. You will be an ambassador for the business and want to update your skills and knowledge on a continual basis. You will be a strong people manager who has the ability to communicate at all levels, as well as mentoring a team of staff.
