Based in our Cambridge office you will be responsible for not only performing a Controllership type function; but also, be a business partner to members of the operational teams; alongside usual line management responsibilities. You will be an established finance leader / controller, with the ability to build credibility and provide critical evaluation. You will be an effective influencer and communicator, leveraging internal networks across multiple functions, including the wider finance teams, to support a cohesive finance strategy. To be successful in this position, you should be an excellent problem solver and decision maker that can communicate professionally whilst networking effectively in a vast matrix organization. You should be self-motivated with a positive outlook that is able to gain the influence others though your expertise, experience and passion. Day to day, this will also include providing direction and leadership within the team, with responsibility for line management, training, coaching and performance management of either Line Managers and/or finance analysts within the operations finance team. This will include all aspects of people management, engagement and development, including preparing and conducting performance calibrations, reviews and salary reviews; ensuring compliance with company policies alongside being accountable for the deliverables from your team. You may also represent finance / operations finance in cross-functional initiatives. Duties Include but not limited to: Review and approval of critical and material entries related to both Revenue and the Balance Sheet. Day to Day management of the team / direct reports; with the possibility that members of your wider team are in different offices around the world. Provide a critical review of the systems and processes that we currently follow and suggest areas of improvement / efficiency Advises business leadership on talent acquisition, development and retention with particular focus on leadership development and succession Strong business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments Proactively drive appropriate strategies for talent acquisition, employee retention, engagement, development, succession planning, productivity and organizational design. Facilitates talent reviews and consults with leaders to integrate talent management and leader development across the business Successfully influences at senior levels to gain buy-in and alignment around finance priorities. Expert knowledge of relevant financial regulations and standards. Qualifications: Qualifications: Education and Experience: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12 years) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, and experience. 5 years of management responsibility Strong leadership skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: D Demonstrated ability to train, coach and manage staff Strong business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments Expert knowledge of accounting/financial principles and best practices Excellent analytical and quantitative skillsAdvanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity Demonstrated executive presence and strong presentation skills A bility to influence at all levels of the organization Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task and handle pressure LI-JP1
