Are you a tax professional looking for a Tax Manager role? If so, you may want to consider this vacancy. We are recruiting on behalf of a Top 20 accountancy practice for this position based at the firm's Newbury office. Reporting to the partners and directors, the successful candidate will take responsibility for a portfolio of personal and corporate clients, providing a range of tax services and assisting with the management of the tax team. As Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include: Reviewing self-assessment and corporate tax returns prepared by juniors, preparing more complex tax computations, and advising clients on tax liabilities in a timely manner Personal and business tax advisory and tax planning, preparation and review of tax accounting disclosures in company accounts and tax audit review work Assisting clients with tax compliance obligations and meet the required compliance deadlines Preparing client letters, fee quotes and fees Assisting in preparing P11Ds Undertaking research into tax enquiries on client affairs and ad hoc assignments as they arise Providing support on planning projects and research technical issues on advisory work such as asset/business sales, succession planning and tax residency issues Dealing with more complex client queries (internal and external) and provide tax planning advice Attending client meetings Involvement in business development activities and contribute to winning new client work Assisting the senior manager, director or partner with providing feedback to team members as well as assistance with conducting appraisals Planning and executing the longer-term strategy of the department along with the departmental partner We invite applications from candidates with the following knowledge, skills and experience: Be CTA qualified with proven experience of working with personal tax clients in a practice environment Competent in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel High level of numeracy with an aptitude for detailed work and a methodical approach Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to make decisions, solve problems and take appropriate action Understand the link between effective performance management and business results Demonstrate a clear knowledge and understanding of performance standards, quality control procedures and office procedures Ability to adapt leadership style for different team members and deal with underperformance issues, positively and confidently Have good timekeeping skills and display a professional attitude in all aspects work, be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines Be confident participating in team meetings making a wide range of suggestions This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious firm of accountant that is in a stage of continued growth.
