Overview Our Risk & Advisory Services business are looking for an Internal Audit Manager to join their London team.As a Manager you will manage multiple internal audit teams and assignments of moderate complexity and variety in line with the audit plan and BDO's internal audit methodologies.You will also support Directors and Partners with work, build excellent client relationships, assist with the department's strategy and support marketing and business development projects. Responsibilities
• Act as lead on assigned clients, planning the delivery of the work and overseeing the work of more junior members of the team. Overall responsibility for each assignment will be retained by the Partner.
• People management; resource planning and allocation, performance management, training, recommendations for promotion, mentoring and coaching
• Manage own work in progress, debtors, budgeted costs, billing and recovery as well as maximising profitability from a portfolio of clients
• Liaison with central departments on risk management, technical and other matters
• Support Partners and Directors with the implementation and communication of any new business strategy for existing clients, target clients and the internal business
• Deliver risk management, corporate governance and internal audit assignments which may involve benchmarking systems and processes, and making recommendations for improvement
• Responsible for the planning and scheduling of individual assignments, undertake staff scheduling to ensure the correct allocation of resources
• Prioritise work so resources are devoted to areas of highest risk in line with the audit needs assessment
• Review project files and reports, ensuring all outputs are of a high quality, reaching the required technical standard, ready for Partner review
• Attend Audit Committee meetings as appropriate
• Discuss findings with clients and obtain their buy-in to a proposed way forward.
• Exhibit creativity and innovation in recommending improvements to audit practices, processes and client service
• Identify and recognise new projects and business opportunities for the Internal Audit team, and inform the Partner and client as appropriate. Act as an ambassador of the firm, participating in marketing events, keeping abreast of the range of services the firm offers
• Research competitor offerings and remain up to date with latest thinking in areas of expertise Requirements
• Previous Internal Audit experience at a comparable grade
• Professional qualification PIIA plus QIAL or MIIA, CCAB or equivalent
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practice risk management tools and techniques and in corporate governance
• Awareness of compliance, legislative and market issues relevant to client businesses
• Experience with the use and completion of audit software i.e. Pentana
• Experience with data analytics software, however additional training will be provided
