Robert Walters are currently working with a global leader across a variety of sectors, this business operates in over 150 countries and has a real focus on innovation, new product development, continuous improvement and emerging markets. Due to continued growth across the European arm of the business a pivotal role has been created oversee a number of sites and regions. This person will responsible for the accurate completion of all statutory and tax reporting for the regions will also be instrumental in driving continuous improvements over compliance and controllership for the sites. This person will responsible for the accurate completion of all statutory and tax reporting for the regions will also be instrumental in driving continuous improvements over compliance and controllership for the sites. Key Responsibilities Ensures that the business units' financial results are reported in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with GAAP through periodic balance sheet reviews Ensures compliance with Local Country and US Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley Proactive management of internal/external audits and coordination of timely implementation of corrective action Responsible for local reporting including statutory reports, income tax and other statistics. Work with local partners where appropriate. Support working capital improvement initiatives Assist project controls group to provide support for the accounting and analysis of large projects. Coordinates and performs Sarbanes-Oxley compliance work, including maintaining proper internal control documentation monitoring of control design and effectiveness, preparation, maintenance and review of self-assessment documentation and primary contact for Corporate or compliance matters. Generally, champions compliance oversight, driving the control environment throughout the business by monitoring and identification as well as leading improvement of compliance processes Plays key role in ensuring the financial area complies with laws and regulations; Assists in review of technical accounting issues within the site and communicate significant issues or areas of specific concern Liaise and interact with site leader, site finance and various other departments to ensure the finance function supports the needs and day to day activities of the operating business The successful candidate with be a Qualified accountant with a proven background in a similar role. Knowledge of statutory accounting IFRS and US GAAP is essential for this role. Strong Tax knowledge would be advantageous but not essential. This role requires strong analytical skills with an ability to identify and provide solution to complex operational and financial issues as they impact.
