Search Criteria: Fully-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) candidate with a min. of 4-5 years PQE with Group financial reporting or consolidations experience, preferably within a large PLC and multi-entity/subsidiary environment/business An individual with a good understanding of financial statement concepts and principles and end-to-end financial statement preparation Strong technical skills: the individual will need to have a proven track record in preparing complex consolidations together with an understanding of IFRS and IFRS to local GAAP adjustments Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Confident user of Excel with Oracle or Hyperion experience being a bonus (but is not essential) Good communication and influencing skills with stakeholder management experience A candidate with sufficient experience to "hit the ground running" with this role Role purpose: Group Finance, based in London, comprises teams covering Group Financial Reporting and Group Management Reporting. The Group Financial Reporting team is a small group of skilled professional financial accountants with overall responsibility for the preparation, review and analysis of the Group's consolidated results prepared for external, regulatory and monthly (balance sheet) reporting purposes. Key responsibilities include: The preparation of the Group's consolidated financial position and supporting analysis in accordance with IFRS using Hyperion Financial Management and Oracle, providing accurate and timely information prepared to a high standard. As a FTSE listed Group, statutory reporting includes the year-end financial statements, half year statements and interim management statements. Liaising with Group functions (Tax, Legal, Company Secretarial, Risk, Treasury and Compliance) and regional finance teams to ensure that information and supporting analysis is prepared and delivered to fulfil the Group's reporting requirements and ensuring that accounts are maintained in accordance with the group's chart of accounts. Providing, in conjunction with the Group Head of Financial Reporting and the Group Chief Accountant, clear and timely technical accounting support, guidance and analysis to regional finance teams. Assisting the Group Finance team with their relationship with the External and Internal audit teams to ensure an efficient and effective review process. Providing support to the budgeting and forecast processes through the preparation of budgeted and forecast Group balance sheet and related notes and analysis. As custodian of the Group's consolidation process, to be proactive in making appropriate recommendations and amendments to systems, processes and procedures to enhance the timeliness and quality of the output from Group Finance. Reviewing statutory accounts, prepared under IFRS and Regional GAAP, for certain subsidiaries falling under the responsibility of Group Finance. Skills & Experience: The role will involve high levels of liaison within Group Finance and with members of the Regional finance teams and will require the exercise of effective influencing skills. The individual will need to become a trusted and respected member of the financial reporting team. Ideal candidates are likely to be professionally qualified accountants with at least 4 to 5 year's PQE in a Group financial reporting, or equivalent role. The individual will need to have a proven track record in preparing complex consolidations together with an understanding of IFRS and IFRS to local GAAP adjustments. They need to have a strong attention to detail and be able to identify, understand and correct accounting anomalies against the background of a dynamic and expanding business. Experience in using excel to an advanced level, as well as experience of Oracle and Hyperion applications would be beneficial. Strong communication skills are essential, as is a propensity for intensive team work to bring about positive outcomes.
