We are recruiting for an exciting role to join the UK Packaging Finance team as a Site Finance Business Partner. Your role will be part of the site management team for 2 manufacturing sites, providing strategic insight into the financial implications of the business performance. You will be responsible for interpreting the financial results and explaining the key drivers of this performance to the team, with a view to driving profit improvement and challenge to the business decisions. In particular, initially this role will focus on the cost of manufacture interpretation and they will own the accuracy the costing process. You will report to the UK Packaging FD and have one direct report, a management accountant. You will be based at Bradford and be responsible for the Finances of Bradford and Newmarket sites. Main Duties and Responsibilities Monthly Reporting Interpret the monthly accounts to the site management team using both financial information and non-financial information Provide insight into the performance using variance analysis and bridges and inspire site management to utilise this data Identify large costs and variances, investigate and understand the key drivers to help improve future forecasting and budgeting Align the business performance to other reporting and non-financial data issued within the business to ensure clarity of key drivers eg: sales & margin reporting, OEE, production volumes, quality Ensure the estimated cost of manufacture accurately reflects the real cost of manufacture and deviations can be explained to site management Responsible for the accuracy of the costings process at their sites ensuring that the correct cost to manufacture is used to base commercial decisions. Forecasting and Planning Prepare the quarterly forecasting process ensuring a high level of forecast accuracy Prepare the annual budget process in line with Divisional deadlines, working closely with the site management team Controls Compliance Ensure integrity of site controls and compliance Support internal and external auditors at sites Ensure all submission data is uploaded in line with Group deadlines for the sites Ensure businesses comply with Group Accounting policies and Minimum Control Standards Staff Management Set objectives for the management accountant and perform regular reviews providing feedback on performance Provide support, guidance and coaching to the management accountant when required Skills and Attributes : You should have the following skills, experience and/or qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with good academics & experience c2-5 years PQE Previous experience within a manufacturing environment essential Experience of working in fast paced, dynamic environments Able to travel to the sites and Nottingham Shared Services on a regular basis ( 1-2 times a month ) Experience of working with stakeholders of differing levels of seniority up to and including directors across finance and non-financial stakeholders Able to build a strong partnership with the site management team & maintain a strong relationship with them Ability to work as part of a larger team and at times be prepared to take on work outside of the role as required helping the team meet deadlines. Strategic thinker with ability to assess all targets in relation to the overall corporate strategy. Comfortable in challenging, proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change Commercially astute. Prior experience of supporting a Commercial team preferred. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously. Proactive in identifying areas of improvement and working on own initiative. Ability to quickly identify the underlying root cause / principles of a situation.
