Audit Senior (Pensions Audit) McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Boutique Accountancy Practice who are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of an Audit Semi-Senior (PQ) and Audit Senior (Qualified), with the opportunity to work in Pensions Audit. You will be required to undertake client audits, liaise with Partners and Client Managers, and review management accounts for a range of corporate businesses and those with pension schemes. Working from their Thames Valley offices and reporting to one of the Partners, key duties include:
• Planning, budgeting, fieldwork and completion of onsite client Audits (the firm deals with 80 pension audits per year)
• Complying with Institute and Accounting legislation when carrying out Audit assignments
• Supervising 2-3 members of junior staff on client sites as necessary
• Managing your own portfolio of corporate audit clients and ensuring all tasks are completed according to internal deadlines and budgets set by the Partners
• Liaising directly with client finance teams and internal partners to ensure information is received in sufficient time to prepare accounts
• Assisting with work in progress, managing audit over-runs and report writing
• Investigating any client audit issues & concerns, and providing recommendations to the Managers or Partners
• Identifying opportunities for additional work, and cross selling where appropriate To be considered for the position, you should be a PQ or Qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant, ideally with 2 years external Audit experience with good exposure to corporate audits from another medium to large sized Accounting practice. You should have some exposure already to staff management, audit planning & close, management of WIP, group audits and up to date IFRS knowledge. You should possess excellent prioritising skills, be comfortable communicating up to Director level and be able to adhere to budget/cost and work deadlines. On offer is a base salary up to £30,000 for the PQ role and £50,000 for the Qualified position depending upon Audit experience, with benefits including 25 days holiday, pension & healthcare schemes and free onsite car parking.
