The opportunity Be a part of our group services team who provide support to all businesses across our five global hubs, based in our corporate head office in London. The role Finance Manager To oversee the day to day process of the general ledger (GL) in Oracle. To ensure that all transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This includes checking the error reports and clear down daily of issues to make sure month end is not impacted. Managing the chart of accounts (COA) (updates, changes, closing of accounts) and the close of month-end and all other GL requirements. Your responsibilities will include: Managing the sub-ledger month-end close, ensuring all sub-ledger teams adhere to the timetable. Ensuring reports are run on all unaccounted/accounted but not transferred and errors and any other issues are dealt with (including projects to GL rec). Managing the intercompany team to ensure that balances are reconciled at the end of each month end. Considering intercompany on a regular basis and manage repatriation of cash back to group by way of intercompany clear downs. Maintaining chart of accounts. Being the main point of contact for any changes to the COA, making sure any changes updates are needed across the business. Looking at wider business impacts (i.e. impact on expenditure types and purchasing categories). Managing of the payroll reconciliation processes and finance assistant responsible for payroll postings. Managing of standard cost rates for staff in the system. Providing sweep report making sure transactions are cleared the following month (no legacy continued roll over). Creating accounting at month end to process and transfer to GL. Running reconciliation reports and check GL dashboard for any unposted items. Maintaining all period exchange rates, updating spot rate for last day of prior month and incorporate rate for new month. Managing the currency revaluation process to make sure FX revalue has been completed for unrealised gains and losses. Managing and coordinating all general ledger reporting requirements. Managing GL journals posted/unposted. Managing scheduled processes. Highlighting any issues back to supporting teams for fixing the following month. Closing month-end and open next month. Acting as an ambassador for the finance team and partner effectively with all internal and external stakeholders. Line management duties: Providing day to day management of direct reports. Scoping out direct report role requirements and grow team. Maintaining and overseeing the development of the team. Conducting one to one meetings on a quarterly basis and annual appraisals to ensure objectives are being met and managed. Providing training to the team (and wider business in functional specialist areas where required). The requirements Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include: Previous experience working in a similar role. Immaculate attention to detail. Experience of month-end close processes. Excellent communication skills. A good team player. Ability to work under self-direction and prioritise accordingly. Experience and good working knowledge of Oracle Cloud. Experience of Dream (Coda).
