Brook Street are currently supporting a leading firm who on the lookout for an exceptional Financial Controller to join their office in Slough. Main Purposes
• With the Finance Partner, set the Finance agenda within the partnership in support of the firm's overall strategy
• To manage the team to maximise profitability, optimise cash flow and cash management and take ownership of the budgeting and forecasting process
• Have overall responsibility for day to say running and supervision of the Finance team Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and contribute to the financial strategy within the practice
• Identify improvement opportunities
• Support the COFA with regard to SRA compliance
• Manage, develop and mentor the team including setting of KPIs and objectives for team members
• Statutory accounts preparation and ensure compliance with statutory and SRA audits
• Responsible for internal and external financial reporting
• Acting as liaison with the bank and stakeholders
• Managing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual processes in line with task list
• Payroll
• Assist on accounts-related projects as required
• Other ad-hoc duties as required Knowledge/Skills/Personal Attributes
• Qualified ACA/CIMA or similar
• Strategic and operational background to drive the business forward
• Commercial ability to complement financial knowledge and ability
• Prior experience of a similar role within the legal industry (at least 3 years) including both operational and strategic responsibilities
• Excellent working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Experience using Solicitors Case Management (Tikit/Partners for Windows strongly preferred).
• Excellent time management/organisational skills
