We are recruiting for an Assistant Category Manager to work for a global business based in the Croydon area. This is a full-time permanent opportunity with a salary of up to £29,000 per annum. This is a great opportunity for someone to gain further exposure within the area of procurement/category management. You will report in to the Category Manager but this is an autonomous role where you will be given responsibility for your own areas of business. You will need to have a good understanding of the procurement and contract management process as well as having held supplier review meetings. Within this role you will be responsible for the purchase of goods and services from appointed suppliers both locally and globally as well as seeking to improve service, run tenders, negotiate terms and oversee Supplier Level Agreements. Key duties will include: Liaising with stakeholders to understand requirements and support them through the procurement journey Managing the tender process, appointing suppliers, ensuring that value for money is achieved Negotiate terms and conditions of contract Maintain supplier database and run due diligence checks Analyse spend and manage appointed supplies, monitor performance against SLA and carry out supplier surveys Meet with suppliers to discuss performance and enhance contracts where applicable Resolve any financial disparity and maintain clear and accurate records Personal specification: Excellent communication and rapport building skills Analytical and autonomous Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with an eye for numbers Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel A CIPS qualification would be desirable Tate is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
