About the role Responsible for supporting transformational activity into BAU for projects and systems development impacting Fin Ops for VF UK. Providing expert knowledge into Finance transformation projects for VF UK and also for Group initiatives f or Fixed. Assist the team in identifying methodologies to improve existing processes. The Ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical capabilities, strong financial technical skills, enjoys developing new processes, and have the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to senior management. Key Accountabilities:
• Participates in or develops mechanisms for establishing, monitoring and integrating project elements, product configuration and communications concerning change management processes and decisions within Finance Operations Revenue and Margin; Gate-keeper for all system changes impacting the R&M teams
• Coordinates the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project and team, finance, planning, scheduling and line management.
• Identify, communicate and actively manage alignment & interdependencies with technology, data, vendor and Business Change teams
• Provide status reporting, risk and issue management, plan and approach communication, budgetary estimates/actuals as required, and provide input to the key governance forums
• Ensure ongoing compliance with existing Sarbanes Oxley and Audit control documentation while identifying opportunities for streamlining controls and maintaining an effective control environment.
• Manage Relationship with System support teams (VFUK and Group) to Assure new Group accounting tool Interact with Commercial Finance (VFUK and Group) to support explanation of finance results
• Convey Complex/detailed data transactions to Senior Finance management
• Lead continuous process improvements to create further efficiencies within the team in order to meet challenging objectives.
• Recommend ideas and help implement improvements to processes cross functionally and/or within own role area.
• Proactively seeking and investigating systems improvements.
• Have an excellent knowledge of procedures and issues within the team/area. Provide support to team members as required resolving reporting issues.
• Required to influence stakeholders on a one-to-one basis.
• Ability to converse with all levels of the business.
• Ensure completeness/accuracy of local and group systems and processes
• Ensure ongoing compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements and promote a highly controlled and accurate working environment. Be able to identify and address any control weaknesses. Key Skills/Qualifications
• A strong leader with the ability to motivate and manage teams in matrix organisation
• Strong communication skills
• Analytical, problem solving and root cause identification skills
• Agile or Scrum certification desirable
• Finance qualification desirable
• Understanding of IFRS; Strong Financial Accounting and analytical skills
• Experience in dealing with multiple complex demands from various areas of the business and various levels of seniority
• Ability to challenge the status-quo in a mature and sophisticated manner
• Knowledge of the mobile telecommunications industry an advantage
• Advanced Excel skills
