Payroll Assistant
Reporting to the Finance department, the Payroll Assistant will process GTR's payroll in a timely and accurate manner. The individual will calculate wages and applicable deductions according to the employee's attendance and timesheet records. The Payroll Assistant will complete payroll reports, issue employees' checks and earnings summaries and enter payroll information on our systems for processing. Key
responsibilities:
Process GTR's payroll every pay period Calculate employee pay based on time sheets and taxes Answer staff questions regarding wages, attendance, time records and deductions Honour confidentiality of employee's records Receive and coordinate requests for leave and any other absences Process changes to job titles etc. Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records Support both finance and HR in administrative tasks Maintain records on GTR's payroll processing and HR systems Adhere to payroll policies and procedures, complying with relevant law Calculate national and council taxes including National Insurance contributions Report to HMRC where necessary Key requirements: Familiarity with payroll software Sage 50 Payroll experience is desired Intermediate Excel knowledge Attention to detail Data entry skills Capable of working with minimal supervision Core hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm Note that due to the continually changing nature of the job, duties will potentially change.
