£Circa £30,000 Full Time hours - 37 hours per week plus study support and excellent benefits Our Role In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of comprehensive general accounting and period closing activities supporting the Domestic Supply business. You will support the Finance Manager and Accountants through the accurate and timely execution of transactional activities such as posting journals, running reports and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. Alongside this there is scope you for to support on project work. The role will allow you the chance to take ownership of the statutory accounts of one of the largest companies in the SSE group, so this is an excellent opportunity to grow and develop with the view of progressing towards the role of Accountant in the near future. Our Retail business is going through a period of great change so this role will allow you to join us at an exciting time, and to really make and impact on our finance business whilst strengthening and developing your own skills. Skills and Experiences We are looking for you to join us with a background working in a finance analyst role and you will be studying towards a professional finance qualification (ACCA/CIMA). You will have a basic knowledge of core financial systems and ERP software - Oracle would be beneficial. It would be an advantage for you to have an awareness of current regulations including IFRS / New UK GAAP and Companies Acts. Its vital you are a strong user of Excel and are able to use functions such as SUMIF, VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables. As an individual you will be able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure whilst never compromising on the quality of your work.
