Optimus Cards is the leader in providing white label debit card programs and a fully authorised Electronic Money Institution. We serve financial institutions seeking flexible and scalable sizing, full-service operational support, and turnkey deployment. We believe firmly that distribution size should not prevent banks and smaller institutions from offering top-tier debit card services. We operate from our headquarters in the United Kingdom and build first-class end-to-end card solutions for financial institutions across Europe. We partner with the best in the industry to put together our custom card program. We now have an opportunity for an experienced CFO to join our growing business on a permanent basis. Successful candidate will have full responsibility for all financial and fiscal management for Optimus Cards UK Ltd and its subsidiaries - you will advise and collaborate with the CEO, leadership team and the Board of Directors in providing critical insights into the Group strategy, helping shape our success. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on finance professional who can balance fast-paced and dynamic start-up culture of an international SME (active in UK, Ireland, Romania and Lithuania) with financial rigour and professionalism. Successful candidate will manage our financial compliance and be responsible for the development and management of the financial strategy, ensuring that the Company has a long term, economically sustainable plan. With significant exposure to broader management issues, you will assess financial and operational information, challenge current business processes, highlight and recommend areas for change and/or improvement. Key Responsibilities Financially control, advise and assist in formulating the Company's future direction; developing the strategy for the Finance function to support the achievement of the business strategy Provide financial advice, support and to the leadership team and the Board of Directors by building strong working relationships ensuring decisions are well informed and commercially sound Work closely with the CEO to understand and implement operational and managerial strategies in accordance with guidelines approved by the Board of Directors. Work with outsourced accountants to produce monthly management accounts, and auditors to deliver yearly audited accounts for approval by the BoD Lead and assist in improvements/development of internal financial processes and controls to support the business operations and growth, including identification, implementation and optimisation of best-in-class digital infrastructure to improve existing operational processes. Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the company, including the operating and capital budget development and disbursement processes and ensure that the company's financial reports are accurate, completed in a timely manner and compliant to relevant local regulations Complete analysis of financial results and develop both strategic and tactical recommendations; monitor actual results against budget, control costs and resolve any incorrectness or malfunctions to implement procedures to ensure robust financial management processes are in place across the Company Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, forecasting and financial reports of the company; Implementing effective mechanisms for the review of budgetary units to identify opportunities to deploy financial resources in a more effective and efficient manner Identify, assess and respond to ongoing and emerging risks to the business and ensure compliance with a growing number of regulations and laws Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Act as key point of contact for the shareholders, banks, auditors and tax advisors Lead, manage and develop the finance function (a team of 3 colleagues) Cash and liquidity management, working capital management and managing a multi-layered capital structure Attendance at the monthly board meeting and preparation of the monthly board pack Regular reporting of accurate financial results to the management and shareholders Continuous improvement and optimisation of finance processes as well as controlling instruments Ad-hoc projects Skills, abilities and experience Fully ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified or equivalent; preferably an MBA in Finance and Certified Public Accountant Solid experience of working for a FCA regulated company Analytical mind-set and outstanding business judgement, results-driven and goal-oriented with ability to constantly improve processes Previous experience at Director/Finance Controller/ CFO level Fintech services /fast-paced professional services environment experience would be a distinct advantage. Proven track record of setting up structures and defining and executing roadmaps with high efficiency in complex and fast-paced environments Capable and confident decision maker, with strong communication skills at Stakeholder Management. Team management, leadership and development experience Experience in change management Period reporting, budgeting and strategic planning
