We are working with a firm of accountants based in Bedford, Bedfordshire, who are looking to recruit a Senior Bookkeeper - VAT Manager to join their team. The role will will primarily focus on VAT compliance for the firm's clients as well as visiting clients to update their bookkeeping software to fall in line with MTD legislation compliance. Your daily duties will include: - Dealing directly with clients to obtain required documentation before submission deadlines - Supervise and review VAT returns, EC Sales listings, Intrastat Reports, as well as other filing as required - Liaising with HMRC - Working together with senior Managers to allocate on monitor work, as well as on-boarding new clients onto Xero, providing training as necessary Required Skills and Qualifications - AAT qualified or equivalent - Working knowledge of Xero would be a strong advantage - Up to date with and strong knowledge of VAT compliance issues, - Good communications skills, both verbally and written
