Simpson Judge are working on a exciting opportunity for a reputable Global Business who are looking to build their VAT team in Manchester. We are looking for an experienced VAT manager to join their VAT Compliance & Controllership (VAT C&C) team as a Senior Manager VAT Compliance. VAT C&C is a well-established team of 40 plus VAT experts, which is responsible for VAT compliance and control across the region as well as providing support to Tax colleagues and the wider business.

Responsibilities:
Ensuring the business remains VAT compliant - paying the right amount of VAT at the right time; Managing a team of VAT experts within VAT C&C; Working with the Director of VAT C&C on strategies to improve the level of assurance in VAT compliance and the efficiency of processes; Identifying and mitigating VAT risks within the VAT compliance space; Liaising with, and providing support and advice to, Tax colleagues as well as the business and Accounting teams; Actively participating in cross functional project launches from scoping through to testing and launch. Skills, Qualifications & Experience: An accounting or tax qualification or degree. CIMA ,ACCA, ACA, AAT or similar credentials preferred. Relevant accounting experience (public/private mix preferred). Significant experience of international VAT in either an advisory capacity and/or a compliance environment. Analytical, auditing and compliance skills. Experience of accounting and audit methods and systems. Demonstrated ability participating in milestone driven projects. A strong desire to exceed expectations. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Strong organisational and project management skills. A team player with a hands-on attitude. A good communicator with excellent inter-personal skills who is confident in communicating with others at all levels. A problem solver. Organised, analytical and methodical with strong attention to detail. A confident MS Excel user. Able to take ownership and responsibility for their work under minimal supervision. Able to work to tight deadlines, and under pressure.
