Interim Finance Director | Greater Manchester | £700 - £1000 per day | Financial Services Our client is a leading consumer focussed financial services business based in Greater Manchester. An opportunity has arisen for an Interim Finance Director, reporting directly to the CFO, with a strong dotted line to the CEO. About the role The role has risen due to ongoing, and successful activity to transform the business. The Interim Finance Director will take stewardship of the team during this time. Once the permanent role profile has been agreed, the successful interim candidate will be considered for the long term opportunity should it be desired. It is important for the role holder to have an ability to switch easilly between complex financial dialoge with the CFO, and commercial strategic dialogue with the CEO. Key responsibilities Leadership of all financial support across the division, from control to commercial finance Input to and delivery of strategic goals Responsibility for divisional finance team (15) Provide analysis and reports to support and evaluate initiatives & projects Oversee production of relevant sales, margin, cost plans and forecasts Support key senior stakeholders with reports, information and analysis Ensure appropriate control processes operate across the function and supported business areas Provide challenge and influence to key decisions on pricing, new products, promotions, discounts, communications, and other marketing activities Encourage a consistent approach to analysis including methodology for pre/post reviews, control groups, summary output and presentation style Provide appropriate balance of challenge and support to other functional teams, ensuring that proposed activities will drive profitable growth Ensure close relationships with the wider business ensuring a cooperative approach and minimal risk of duplication Person profile Qualified accountant with extensive experience in a senior finance role (FD/CFO) Experience of working in a retail focussed industry with a strong leaning towards financial services Experience and understanding of current issues, topics and trends within consumer financial services Leadership qualities; able to build, motivate, develop and coach a large team Proven ability and experience of challenging and influencing senior board level stakeholders The ability to transform complex financial analysis into effective and digestible summaries for non-finance teams A creative thinker who is able to find analytical solutions to business demands Dynamic, positive and solutions focussed character Package £700 - £1000 per day
