UK FINANCE ANALYST, 12 MONTH INITIAL CONTRACT WITH SIGNIFICANT OPPORTUNITES TO STAY LONGER TERM (BASINGSTOKE, PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY): £23-32 PER HOUR. WORLD LEADING MULTINATIONAL COMPANY, FANTASTIC WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND ROLE The Client Our client is quite simply one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, with a reputation for being one of the best organisations to work for globally. We are presently seeking a Finance Analyst for an initial 12 month contract, but if the candidate performs well it is likely to lead to longer term opportunities. Position Description: Reporting to the UK Finance Manager, the UK Finance Analyst will be supporting the existing general accounting team to manage increased workload. Month end processes Review and approval of journals and monthly reconciliations and review of month end accounting to ensure local balances are accurately reported Preparation of additional supporting information for group reporting purposes Preparation and submission of quarterly inter-company billings Corporation tax & VAT Assistance with preparation of UK corporation tax returns Responsibility for UK VAT returns and foreign VAT returns (5 countries UK) Responsibility for EC Sales list and Intrastat reporting Statutory accounts and audit UK statutory audit & accounts preparation assistance for UK companies Other activities Assistance with managing changes to processes and systems, in particular associated with VAT reporting Monitoring cash flows and assisting with development of improved cash flow forecasting Other ad-hoc projects that will arise from time to time Competencies, skills and experience required In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and UK GAAP accounting Experience in and deep understanding of judgmental accounting transactions Ability to apply strong accounting theory in reviewing accounting activities for compliance with US GAAP/UK GAAP, SOx and other requirements Knowledgeable of SAP Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.) Multi-task and prioritize responsibilities Demonstrate strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Strong analytical and issues resolution skills Self-starter, high learning agility Ability to influence at all levels without direct authority Experience of working in a deadline driven environment Qualifications required Degree and Professional Accounting qualification, with at least 3 years recent post qualification experience Is This You?
