Supporting a range of sectors including teaching, professional standards and centres of excellence, the group is currently seeking a qualified Financial Controller to support the Commercial Finance Director in overseeing the Finance team and day to day financial & transactional operations. A broad and varied brief includes:
• Management of a finance team of 4 and growing due to organisation expansion which includes annual & performance reviews
• Financial Accounting, Transactions & Statutory Reporting -Driving the preparation of monthly accounts -Management of the purchase order & invoice process -Maintaining the chart of accounts & standard reporting -Reviewing all bank reconciliations -Monthly & quarterly monitoring & reconciliation of balance sheets accounts -Preparation of partial-exempt VAT returns -Overview of outsourced monthly payroll to ensure accuracy -Ensuring all central costs are allocated to the appropriate grants & income streams -Leading the year-end process from preparation of audit files to finalisation of statutory accounts -Ensure accounting procedures & policies are up to date & proposing enhancements
• Management Accounting & FP&A -Assisting with preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, financial planning & delivery plans -Supporting ad hoc commercial & financial planning including tendering for new business As a qualified accountant with proven strength and breadth in financial accounting, month end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, ideally gained within the Education, Not-for-Profit or Charity sector, you will demonstrate strong IT skills including Excel and preferably Sage 200 and be a proactive, energetic individual with the capability of developing robust relationships across finance and the operations community.
