The Role: 1.Accounting Prepare and calculate accruals and prepayments on a monthly and quarterly basis Prepare and upload journals to accounting system for accruals and prepayments Prepare, calculate and journal inter-company recharges and invoices Preform Balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis Support the Financial Accountant in preparation of closing the General Ledger Prepare and complete depreciation run for review Ensure expenses are allocated correctly to cost centre and expense code Prepare recharge invoices for Service company and reconcile inter-company transactions 2.Reporting and Analysis Preparation of Financial analysis and reporting packages on a monthly and quarterly basis Assist in the preparation of the Statutory Annual Reports and Accounts Assist in the preparation of SII Regulatory reporting Preform Expense reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis Maintain fixed assets register Provide information on reverse charges for inclusion in the quarterly VAT return Complete various financial, accounting, tax, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary 3.Control Support Respond to queries on accounting entries from the business in a timely effective manner Participate in the Audit process as and when required by the Financial Accountant Get involved in the VAT process as and when required by the Financial Accountant Contribute towards implementation of improved control regime in the area of accruals, prepayments, credit and expense management 4.Specific Skills Knowledge of general insurance business Accounting knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP Organised and ability to work to tight deadlines, experience meeting deadlines Demonstrates good communication skills both verbal and written Advanced Excel skills and SAP financial accounting systems essential Studying towards professionally-recognised qualification (AAT/ACCA) Badenoch Clark acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
