Financial Controller Cheltenham £50,000 - £55,000 An opportunity to join a diverse, privately-owned service sector business as Financial Controller. You will enjoy a broad remit with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance department and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the financial strategy of the company. You will also manage a small sized team. Key responsibilities will include: Supervising the preparation of month end accounts and VAT returns Ensuring the completion of bank, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations Financial analysis and reporting Ensuring robust financial systems and processes are in place Identification of areas that require improvement and implementing necessary changes to support business development Overseeing tax and compliance Managing the audit process and liaising with external personnel including banks Oversee the preparation of year end statutory accounts Managing, mentoring and motivating the accounts team Contributing to company financial strategy and decision-making process Developing forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a good attitude, the ability to analyse and make sound recommendations and a strong focus on controls and processes. Ideally you will have worked in a similarly broad position before and will have strong technical skills and be an effective communicator.
