Job purposeTo manage and formally report on internal audits in accordance with the Liberty Global internal audit methodology to provide independent assurance and advice to improve Liberty Global's control environment and operations.Key AccountabilitiesDeliver audit projects on time and in accordance with the Liberty Global internal audit methodology.Work independently with support and guidance from the Senior Manager.Manage and participate in detailed audit assignment planning, including a risk assessment for the business area or business process under review and prepare an audit planning memorandum.Manage teams of between one and three auditors and or co-sourced resource to complete the audit in accordance with the audit planning memorandum agreed with the VP Audit, Risk and Compliance.Perform audit testing for more complex areas and document work-papers and audit findings in accordance with the Liberty Global internal audit methodology.Review working papers and audit results to assure the quality of work and to support the development of conclusions from work performed.Communicate with auditee management throughout the audit to keep them informed of audit progress and agree findings and management action plans.Lead update and closing meetings during the fieldwork.Draft audit reports Coach team members on risk based audit techniques, testing procedures, audit approach and drafting findings.Run 2 - 3 projects at a time with limited senior management support.Evaluate team members' performance for each project.Preferred education/ qualifications:University degree in accounting, internal audit or other qualified disciplineCPA, ACA, CIA, CIPM, CISA or equivalent certificationsKnowledge & Experience:Professionally-qualified accountant or internal auditor.Experience in risk-based auditing and risk management.Experience of auditing in the technology, media or telecoms sectors is considered a plus.Skills & Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to understand and summarize complex information.Able to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels within Liberty Global, varying style and content as necessary.Strong organizational skills and capable of managing and achieving multiple deadlines.Ability to manage a project team.Strong analytical skills, supported by critical thinking and an ability to identify the root cause of a problem.An inquisitive mind with an innovative yet pragmatic approach to problem solving.Effective working within a team or as an individual, able to deliver independently as well as through others.The application process at Liberty Global includes a background check regarding, but not limited to employment, education, reference checks and may include a criminal background check.
