• Teams: Executive & Finance Career Opportunity Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director will act as the CEO's 'right hand' in guidance, decision making and assisting in executing strategic visions. We are looking for a highly qualified, professional and organised Finance Director who can think strategically and will seek to improve efficiencies and processes within the Finance Team and across the business. You are required to be self-managing with the ability to guide and empower a team. Taking on responsibility of the many facets of the role, you will be responsible for the management of the Finance Lead, finance functions, risk, compliance and legal obligations. You are expected to be self-motivated with the ability to use initiative, meet deadlines and present ideas to the CEO. Once successful in the role we would work towards progression into a Chief Financial Officer position. You Will Be Responsible For
• Identifying and mitigating business risks and assessing any potential impact of industry changes and fluctuations
• Governance, compliance, control and auditing
• Lead the management accounting and financial forecasting processes whilst reporting financial results to the board of directors
• You will directly manage the Finance Lead and aid them in providing leadership across the Finance Team, developing their skills and ensuring that information is being processed in the most effective and efficient way possible
• With expertise in broader thinking, you will analyse all data collected by the Finance Team in order to identify opportunities and create robust plans for improving core business functions such as pricing distribution, marketing and remuneration policies
• Ownership and accountability for carrying out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial, legal and statutory obligations and objectives
• Partner with the CEO and other senior stakeholders to ensure the business hits its strategic milestones
• Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
• Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
• Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the company
• Develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure that the company complies with financial procedures and regulations
• To develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations or breaches of internal policy, process and legal guidelines
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process
• Ensuring company terms and conditions are updated regularly, in line with business requirements and litigation claims
• Lead and deliver the annual audit process
• Advising on long-term business and financial planning
• Assist in wider business projects and potentially oversee other key functions across the business. Experience and Person Specification
• Strong academic background and proven experience as Finance Director, CFO or relevant role
• In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
• Strong expertise within the following areas - leadership, strategy & planning, change management, transition management, processes, people management, operational excellence, business acumen, technology, service delivery, project management and project delivery.
• You'll be a high calibre individual, with exceptional levels of personal drive and eagerness for personal development
• Ability to lead and influence decisions across various internal functions
• High attention to detail and a dedication to data integrity
• Demonstrated ability to balance many conflicting tasks
• Professional, "get it done" attitude and work ethic
• An analytical mind and knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Proven people management and Leadership skills - resource and performance management issues, motivate and lead teams
• Excellent Senior Stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience in writing and delivering Strategic Plans
• Proven change-management skills in a complex stakeholder environment
• Significant experience of delivering to targets and deadlines, showing a comprehensive understanding of financial management and governance
• Confident and authoritative speaker
• Strong listening, presentation, and writing skills
