£21,562 - £24,296 excellent benefits including outstanding pension scheme Closing date: 5th November 2019 UKAEA requires a Finance Assistant to work in its busy and expanding Finance team at the Culham site. The Finance team is made up of the Management Accounts teams who act as Business Partners to different business areas on site and the Financial Accounts team whose responsibilities include treasury and cash management, preparing UKAEA`s tax returns, accounting for UKAEA`s assets and producing the annual accounts. We are seeking a pro-active team player with experience in a finance environment who is ideally either part qualified or working towards a recognised accounting qualification. The job role will include: -Supporting the central and programme Management Accounting teams with day-to-day activities. -Entering journals at request of Management Accountants to assist with their period end routines. -Support in the production of monthly project reports as required. -Helping the Financial Accounts team with a range of accounting and tax-related tasks. -Assistance with the annual rolling programme of asset verification. Knowledge skills and experience Essential Proficient in excel and ability to handle numeric data accurately Experience working within a Finance environment Good attention to detail Desirable Part qualified or working towards a relevant qualification (eg AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA), or equivalent experience Strong time management skills Good written and oral communication skills Experience of U4BW would be an advantage Special requirements: Please note all employees working at the UK Atomic Energy Authority will be required to complete an online Disclosure Certificate application as part of their clearance - The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks will show the details of all current criminal convictions (convictions considered unspent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974) or will confirm that there are no such convictions.
