REED FINANCE are pleased to be working exclusively with a successful SME business in central Oxford to recruit their first Financial Controller. A division of a European Headquartered business the UK entity was established 5 years ago and have gone from strength to strength. In the UK they are effectively a sales and service operation with a distribution business. They operate in a specialist market and have very strong ethics and environmental principles. Based in central Oxford in lovely premises they now need in insource the bulk of their finance operation in order to get closer to the business, work closer with the MD and support future growth. The role will involve monthly accounts production, analysing performance by sales, customers, product and markets, prepare and review budgets, analyse margin and profitability, business partner with cost centre managers, forex and treasury management as well and controls and VAT. From an operations perspective you would be working with the MD to oversee the distribution part of their business, purchasing arrangements as well as identifying operational ways to develop profitability. In this role you will manage 1 accounts assistant and a customer services team of 3. This role would suit a qualified accountant with relevant experience or a QBE who can clearly demonstrate the relevant exposure. You will be experienced working in an SME, enjoy both the financial and operational elements of business and if there was any interest in the environment, green issues or natural solutions then would be an advantage.
