Our client, a highly successful start up investment house based in central London, is looking to recruit it's first Group Financial Controller to be based in their central London offices. The culture is different to most investment houses, you won't often find them wearing a suit and tie, but you will find they are passionate about finding challenger brands to invest in. Their culture is more akin to a successful marketing agency, than a traditional PE firm. Over the last two years the business has grown significantly, and has a goal to IPO in five years. Reporting to the company's senior partner, you will play a key role in initially establishing the financial control and reporting framework for the business, whilst also supporting the board business commercially in it's future growth plans. You will act as a true business partner to the board. Initially, this will be a hands on role getting involved at a granular level, however the role will grow to form a key part of the leadership team. Key responsibilities will include: Establishing and management of the reporting timetable to produce quarterly and year end Group accounts in timely manner. Establishing key consolidation controls and reconciliations and ensuring US GAAP and IFRS journals are complete and accurate. Preparation of quarterly consolidated group management accounts incorporating analysis, commentary and parent company's financials. Review and closely monitor quarterly results and KPIs of the invested entities and report their performance to the senior management team. Research and analysis of technical accounting issues that may impact US GAAP, IFRS and regulatory reporting. Audit, tax, and year end reporting including liaising with external auditors (RSM.) Establishing and implementing financial reporting systems and controls to comply with government regulations and legislation. Ensuring all necessary filings are made with HMRC and Companies House on time. Monitoring of cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing reports with the senior management team. Developing budgets and financial plans. Essential Qualifications / Experience: Qualified Accountant, ideally ACA/ACCA trained (or overseas equivalent) in an accountancy practice, with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience. Experience in preparation of consolidated group accounts - both statutory financial statements and management accounts. Solid understanding of IFRS, financial performance appraisals and review methods. Have good experience in developing and implementing controls and processes. Be well organised and detail orientated. Be proactive, efficient, self-motivated and a self-starter. Be able to work independently and flexibly. Desirables: Previous experience in accountancy practice. Working knowledge of US GAAP. If you have not received feedback on your application within 7 days please assume your applicatication has not been successful.
