Finance Assistant (Tax) Bristol Up to £25,000 Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing international trading business. They are the leaders in what they do and have doubled in size over the last three years, with, realistic, plans to achieve the same over the next. In line with their growth and also a restructure within Finance, the position of Finance Assistant (Tax) is a new role to the business and whilst being transactional and hands-on in its nature, it is the first dedicated role with a focus on Tax. Ideally, the appointed candidate will drive, improve and shape the tax function, creating a model of best practice and leading by example. This is a time of change within finance and the wider business and, for the right person, there is real opportunity for on-going career progression. Key Accountabilities: Production and submission of International VAT Returns. Production and submission of International Duty Returns. Completion and submission of Inter-stat Returns. Assistance with customer VAT re-claim process. Monitoring of and understanding the tax and duty implications of changing jurisdictions. Assistance with the annual budgeting process, for VAT and Duty. Assistance with quarterly forecasts and cashflow requirements, for VAT and Duty. Liaising with overseas third-party VAT and Duty agents. Pro-actively supporting the Financial Controller in implementing improvements and efficiencies. Essential Attributes, Skills & Experience Strong Excel skills. A pragmatic approach to tasks and a logical mindset. Takes pride in own work. Excellent attention to detail and curiosity to understand more. A desire to learn. Excellent communicator with colleagues to share learnings and experience. Proactive, able to plan own workload whilst achieving deadlines.
