Your new company

A driven and ambitious local business with over 3,000 staff is currently looking for an interim Senior Finance Business Partner to provide essential support to the finance team, group and operations functions. You will be a fully qualified finance professional with previous commercial BP exposure in a medium to large company.


Your new role

Main responsibilities

  • Providing input to Group Financial Controller to ensure all processes and procedures are fully documented and up to date
  • Preparation of annual budgets and re-forecasts and input into business plans
  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of time charged and costs within the accounting and billing systems
  • Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure
  • Support with monthly billing process
  • Review and process accrual and prepayment journals as required to support financial reporting and monthly billing transactions
  • Responsible for periodic financial MI delivered to Operations, ensuring flash reporting available and management accounts (including full commentary and variance analysis) are prepared to the required standard
  • Preparation of the periodic risk and opportunities schedule
  • Preparation of financial input into bids for new work, including post implementation review and analysis
  • Attendance at Operational meetings representing Finance
  • Provide financial support and training to operational staff as required
  • Responding to ad hoc request from operational management
  • Development and improvement of operational financial performance measures
  • Assist with the audit preparation work to allow for timely completion of the annual financial statements and corporation tax returns
  • Completion of accurate balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, providing explanation for any significant movements and following up on any actions post management review
  • Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost effective operations
  • Partake in cross functional working across Business Shared Services and the wider business to drive best practice and to standardise approach
  • Creating business strategies to generate shareholder value
  • Adhere to group timescales and deadlines as set from time to time
