Job ID 278619BR Position Title Manager R2R Asset Management Job Description The Asset Management Manager provides direction for the respective Asset Management process team within the NGSC and thereafter leading the primary liaison to the respective Divisional CFOs, BPA (Business Planning & Analysis), BD&L (Business Development & Licensing) and commercial business partners, having the oversight of all services provided from the NGSC. This role ensures accurate reporting of financial information to stakeholders in accordance to IFRS, statutory and Novartis standards & policies. This key leadership role has the critical responsibility of managing the team providing GL services to their respective entities and providing the thought leadership to drive improvements and being accountable for superior customer service. This role with the support of the FRA Head and Asset Management Lead R2R is closely partnering with the other Services Leads, such as R2P (Req to Pay) and FC&C (Financial Control & Compliance). Major Accountabilities Performance Management and Service Delivery Has the operational oversight to provide services at expected levels with a clear customer focus, including handling the exceptions Provides functional guidance from an accounting perspective for business transactions. Interacts proactively within NGSC and Divisions to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting Manages client satisfaction assessment and follow-up process Leads collaboration with key stakeholders, including senior level cross-Novartis entities business colleagues, both accounting authorities/auditors and Novartis local entity/group financial reporting and accounting Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for related policies and processes, supports productivity objectives and continuous improvement, process changes and leading practices to have an efficient and effective process Sets clear strategic vision for the service line, ensuring alignment with NGSC strategy and communicates to all staff and key customers Drives and monitors improvements to sustain a highly effective and efficient accounting and reporting process, and realizes cost reduction opportunities including areas to harmonize and standardize processes Manages service demand and consumption Leads the measurement and delivery of service levels and SLA/KPI targets Manage day-to-day activities for General Ledger Accounting Actively leads and manages the asset management activities in accordance with laws and Novartis required standards Leads and manages the balance sheet account reconciliations of allocated accounts and ensures timely resolution and cleans of overdue items identified Ensures proper accounting of financial transactions and accounting specific questions are well addressed and solved Proactively reviews accounts in scope to ensure all financial transactions are valid and recorded to ensure accuracy of reported data Assures correct valuation and completeness of all assets Ensures proper functionality and process linkages from/to other systems Supports local entities in preparing budget for NGSC relevant services Prepares and leads management of Accounting Position Papers (APP) Manages and advises the business with projects providing accounting guidance/expertize Analysis of accounting data and plausibility checks Minimum requirements University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance or Chartered Accountant / MBA desirable Lean/ Six Sigma Certified preferred Excellent English (written and spoken) 7 years of financial experience, with in-depth functional expertise Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national organization Previous experience in managing financial shared services SAP knowledge Previous experience in auditing, managing quality for shared services or consultancy is a plus Experience in managing projects driving performance improvements Profound people skills, leadership exposure Big 4 audit firm or Industry experience 750 million.
