We are delighted to be partnering with our Client in Leighton Buzzard who are in the market for a Payroll Supervisor on a permanent basis. My client is looking for someone who is actively looking for a career within a large organisation where they can progress and grow their skill-set, as well as being eager to expand upon current knowledge and suggest improvements to processes when possible. The ideal candidate will be actively interested in the complete payroll process and immediately available or available at short notice. . Main duties will include:
• Supervise the accurate entry of data system; including starters, leavers and change of details.
• Actively assist in the chasing of employees for missing paperwork/outstanding information to ensure that cut offs are met. Providing an escalation point, if the administrators are not able to achieve the deadlines required.
• Check correspondence that has been prepared by administrators - particularly that which is due to be issued to employees who have applied for other types of statutory leave, ensuring their understanding and that all legislative requirements have been met.
• Ensure that ALL filing is scanned accurately and in a timely fashion, including that of your team and your own.
• Check the accuracy of variable data when performing temporary element loads input for commissions, bonuses and overtime and ensuring that this is in line with the monthly timetable.
• Ensure that attachment of earnings orders are processed accurately through the payroll to ensure that the correct deductions are made from employees salaries and paid over to the third parties in a timely fashion.
• Assist in the answering of general payroll queries by telephone, email and/or letter in a polite, professional and timely fashion and provide an escalation point for the queries that are more complicated or cannot be resolved by the administrators.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of PAYE and pension payments.
• Prepare a monthly timetable for your teams work, ensuring that this is fully communicated to the whole team to ensure that everyone know what is going on.
• Process RTI returns to HMRC on a monthly basis and ensure payments are made accurately and on time.
• Liaise and provide information to the finance department, including monthly payroll reports and answers to queries on these reports.
• Liaise and provide reports to the pension administrators to ensure the accurate processing of employee pensions. To be suitable for this position you will:
• have 3 years of Payroll experience
• have previous line management experience
• have excellent attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Outlook and Word)
• be able to organise a team to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
• be able to communicate effectively verbally and using written media
