A new exciting varied role has arisen with a successful major transport & distribution contractor. We are recruiting a dynamic Assistant Accountant supporting the home delivery operation in order to drive performance across of aspects of Finance. This is a new role as the company continues to grow which has highlighted the need for expansion. This role would suit an ambitious individual who's willing to learn & work as part of a prosperous team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your duties will include, but not be limited to: Preparation of weekly and periodic financial and statistical reports. Undertake nominal ledger tasks including processing journals, nominal ledger cross charges and period end reconciliations. Business partnering the Operation during weekly finance reviews to help enhance understanding of key cost drivers. Producing robust Budgets & Forecasts. Costing Gainshare projects & tracking actuals. Involvement in Finance driven projects to improve controls and reporting. Carrying out complex payroll reconciliations. Balance sheet preparation including informative commentary and robust supporting reconciliations. To be successful in this role you must have: Numerate and methodical with good problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail. Able to seek, evaluate and organise information in a pressure environment. Meeting tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Have an appreciation of the broad fundamentals of transport operations in both open and closed book environments. Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills.
