An exciting opportunity has arisen within our finance department for a Finance Analyst to join the team based in Brackley, Northamptonshire. We are a leading supplier of Poultry products into an impressive range of customers in the UK retail and food service sectors. Purpose of the role The Finance Analyst will fundamentally be working closely with business partners to understand how the cost of our materials, commodities and utilities have moved and how we have performed as a business against mitigating the impact; understanding the impact of inflationary pressures and what cost mitigation has been done to avoid this. This role is an integral part of the Procurement Team, analysing external spend across the whole business and translating spend data in to management information, formulating this into targeted cost optimisation projects, whilst constantly challenging to drive results. Your key responsibilities as a reporting assistant will include:
• Procurement reporting on spend vs budget in each category, by site, flushing out opportunity areas from identified discrepancies
• Issue a monthly Procurement update to the wider business showing savings, cost increases and cost avoidance with commentary to support.
• Issue a monthly inflation report to all site accountants showing inflationary activity in packaging and ingredients and energy.
• Present financial reports in bi-weekly Procurement meeting, with associated recommendations on cost management opportunities
• Analyse and report on the financial impact of price movements, by category and site. Work closely with the Procurement team to identify cost optimisation project opportunities and challenge proposed savings for robustness and validity.
• Set up and maintain database and reports showing savings, increases and cost avoidances delivered or incurred, by category. Summarise for the bi-weekly Procurement meeting
• Work closely with sites across the group to set up a wastage reports that will be reviewed with Procurement to identify cost optimisation projects
• Set up and maintain a contract database for the business. Ensure all our leasing and contractual commitments are managed and monitor these for renewal opportunities.
• Purchasing card spend analysis
• Forecast upcoming market inflation by category and value the impact on the business
• Support in the preparation and maintenance of a wage inflation tracker What we are looking for:
• AAT Qualified or Part Qualified Studier CIMA / ACCA
• Solid Management Accounting knowledge
• Comfortable working with multiple IT systems
• Good Excel skills including Vlookups, pivot tables and data analysis
• Proactive in organising personal workload
• Able to build working relationships easily with all key functions in organisation
• Be comfortable acting on own initiative and driving the business' cost down agenda
