Head of the Accounts and Finance Title: Head of the Accounts and Finance Full or Part time

Slough A dynamic Slough based Solicitors firm is looking to employ an Accountant to work for their firm as the head of the Accounts and Finance department . The role will be full time The successful candidate will be responsible to provide advice to directors regarding financial issues, as well as supervising staff in the finance department. The candidate will also be responsible to prepare the management accounts using SAGE The successful candidate will be reporting to the Directors on a regular basis. The candidate will be required to undertake the following tasks. Formulating and overseeing accounting policies and procedures in accordance with the codes of standards and Solicitors Accounts rules; Working with the Legal team and Partners/Directors being responsible for the group's financial compliance, management, reporting and budgeting; Ensuring the validity, accuracy and completeness of financial recording in line with Solicitors' accounting principles and reporting to the Directors in all financial, accounting, auditing and financial compliance matters of the group; Produce and present period actuals and forecasts, including preparing period accruals, transfers and adjustments. Issue reports and advise Partners/Directors in understanding the impact of the period results and forecasts against budgets; Working closely with the partners to identify improvements in internal financial controls and making recommendations; Working with the fee earners to generate and dispatch bills, ensuring the accuracy of the information; Advising Partners/Directors on expansion strategy including finance arrangements, budgeting and forecasting cash flow; Interpretation of financial information for management, assisting in financial decision making and planning and preparing management accounts; Support the preparation of business plans and budgets and providing tax advice to the clients; Preparing financial documents for annual statutory reporting; Mandatory Requirements: Candidate must be qualified accountant Ideally minimum experience in a similar role within a law firm Good knowledge and experience of using legal accounting software (e.g Clio, tikit or similar); Have experience in drafting business plan and management account; Experience in business management and business consulting; Friendly Team Player Excellent time management skills Mature, hard working and self-motivated Well-organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to use IT systems,
