Taylor Hawkes are working with a Top 30 Firm of Chartered Accountants who are seeking a Personal Tax Manager for their trusted team of approximately 15 people, including 3 partners. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop and manage a portfolio of private clients' UK tax compliance and advisory needs, with varied levels of responsibility, delivering a high quality personal service to clients, the Partners and other members of the Firm. Responsibilities:
Act as account manager for a portfolio of clients within the Private Client Team. Monitor and manage the progress of all assignments relating to your clients' affairs. Ensure that all assignments relating to your clients' affairs comply with the firm's standards and procedures. Ensure the effective completion of assignments before senior team member review and to be responsible for the quality of the work. To be responsible for the review process of all work on the client affairs taking appropriate account of the level of staff completing the activity and the degree of complexity of both the assignment and the client's affairs. Review correspondence by letter or email prepared by the account handler, to ensure technical quality and accuracy and also to be kept informed of developments. Help (if requested) the partners collect debts from clients and be aware of the status of outstanding debts. Liaise with the senior team members in connection with the management of your client portfolio. Assist in establishing new work on your client portfolio in proactively looking at aspects of financial and wealth planning, inheritance tax and other planning opportunities. Assist on other managers' work when they are under pressure and time is available. Individual: ATT/CTA qualified, or equivalent Experience of reviewing, preparing and filing UK client returns Full knowledge of tax matters relating to private clients Ability to assess team members' work Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to recognise cross selling opportunities Ability to train other team members on tax issues 2:1 degree, or equivalent ACA/ACCA Demonstrable application of management skills, including informal mentoring/coaching Strong MS Office suite and Digita desirable For more information please contact Ryan Munday at Taylor Hawkes
