If so, this role could be for you Reed Accountancy are currently representing a fantastic Company based in the City of London who are looking to bring on board a Part time Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven & motivated individual to join a growing, forward thinking organisation with the opportunity to further develop alongside an established Manager. This role will suit a Part time Bookkeeper who will be responsible for the day to day running of the financial aspects of the company and 6 related organisations, ranging in turnover from £30,000 to £1.5 million. Job Description The role involves running the sales and purchase ledgers, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and bank reconciliations using Sage. The right candidate will be proactive and work closely with other members of the team and external accountants to ensure that accurate and timely financial information is recorded and reported. You would be expected to develop an understanding of the business and related organisations and be capable of providing detailed financial information for presentation to board directors and other stakeholders. You will be confident, have the ability to prioritise a busy workload, project a professional image and have excellent numeracy and bookkeeping skills. Responsibilities -Preparing weekly bank reconciliations and ensuring adequate cash reserves are maintained -Full control of sales and purchase ledgers, including: 1) Inputting invoices into the finance system and ensuring their approval for payment 2) Liaising with external suppliers and customers 3) Formulating and setting up payment runs 4) Filing invoices -Preparing and submitting VAT returns -Processing membership and other sales invoices -Reviewing and posting staff and credit card expenses -Supporting external accountants with the preparation of annual statutory accounts, including dealing with queries and posting journals to reallocate ledger entries -Ensuring fixed asset register is up to date -Preparing various prepayments and accruals journals -Ensuring financial procedures and controls are fully up to date -Statutory filings to HMRC and Companies House Person Specification The ideal candidate will be from a similar Background and have experience working within a similar role, or seeking to transfer their skills as a progressive step forwards into this post. The successful candidate will possess an excellent eye for detail, a can do attitude and a willingness to deliver key business objectives in a timely fashion. In order to apply for this role you will need to ensure that you meet the below criteria:- -Bookkeeping/Accounting Qualification -Experience of working with Sage50 -Excellent numeracy and bookkeeping skills -Good written and verbal communication skills -High attention to detail and ability to close out tasks -Good organisational skills with experience of working in a small team demonstrating willingness to support colleagues and contribute to wider team activities -Well-presented and professional approach
