To control and provide guidance and operational support to the accounts payable and accounts receivable team and wider finance function. Key Responsibilities and duties Managing staff in Accounts Payable and the Accounts Receivable Ledgers, including their personal development Co-ordinating team tasks, ensuring issues are effectively prioritised and departmental deadlines are met Working closely with the FC to ensure transactions are performed in line with company policies Maintaining accuracy of data in line with legislative requirements and having a solid understanding of UK and overseas VAT Ensuring timely allocation of cash and keeping the sales and purchase ledgers up to date Developing a thorough understanding of products and services for accurate processing of transactions Ensuring the customer and supplier master data is set up correctly and the appropriate accounts are used Customer and supplier query resolution Approving sales orders in accordance with guidelines Managing supplier reconciliations and processing reports on Excel Identifying and implementing process improvements Developing strong relationships with Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse and Commercial Updating the Finance team with feedback from other departments and proposed course of action Liaising with auditors, and QA for ISO responsibilities Knowledge & Experience Required ? Previous experience in a similar role Knowledge of SAP desirable Previous experience of managing accounts receivable and payable functions including complex processing scenarios such as automated invoice runs, bulk processing, understanding of customer portals Dealing with suppliers and customers Query resolution Ability to demonstrate experience of process improvement will be an advantage Desired Part/full accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, CIMA) Good command of Excel and other MS products Staff management experience Handling large volumes of transactions in multiple currencies Customer service GCSE (or equivalent) grade B or above in Math and English Key Attributes Positive, with the ability to motivate the team Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines Be process driven and adept at recognising and implementing improvements Self-starter with a hands-on attitude Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
