My client, a Oil Trading company are recruiting into their Finance team. This role is responsible for the financial accounting for the complex trading activities of the UK in accordance with the organization's accounting policies and all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Principal Duties/Responsibilities
• Day to day bookkeeping
• Preparation of monthly financial report and local GAAP statutory accounts
• Financial control including analytical review and balance sheet reconciliation
• Annual and monthly financial analysis and budget
• Financial analysis, including management analysis report to headquarters
• Participate in IT integration project
• Liaison with auditors and local tax advisors
• Involvement in ad-hoc projects within Finance team Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience Qualifications:
• Solid knowledge of international/UK accounting principles and practices, especially Hedge accounting
• Degree level education
• Accounting professional qualification essential, full qualification preferred but part-qualified will be considered, e.g. ACCA or ACA Skills:
• Mandarin speaker
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and under pressure at times at key times of the month
• Ability to use professional judgement and common sense in problem solving and decision making for accounting issues
• Must be a good team player Knowledge/Experience:
• Experience working in a similar accounting role
• Knowledge of oil industry/trading environment is essential
• Understanding/knowledge of finance best practices
• Knowledge of SAP / ERP systems preferred and Microsoft packages, be able to process large amounts of data
• Knowledge of hedge accounting is preferred but is not essential
